Forecast performanceThis will provide an analysis of differences in forecast between the interim OBR’s June Budget 2010 forecast and outturn for 2010-11. Ahead of this, to ensure continuity of data for users, in the Analysis of past forecasting performance, November 2010 document, the OBR provided tables setting out the differences between forecast and outturn for Budget 2008 and Budget 2009. These forecasts were produced by HM Treasury under the previous Government. The OBR is not providing commentary on forecast accuracy or an explanation of these forecast differences as this would require interpretation of the forecasting judgements made by the previous Government.    |
