PublicationsThe OBR produces a variety of publications in pursuit of its duty to examine and report on the sustainability of the public finances: The Economic and fiscal outlook appears in spring (alongside the Budget) and autumn. It sets out forecasts for the economy and the public finances over a five year horizon and assesses whether the Government is on course to hit its fiscal targets. The Fiscal sustainability report presents long term projections for public spending and tax revenue, describes the public sector balance sheet, and sets out summary indicators of the long term sustainability of the public finances. The Forecast evaluation report examines what can be learnt to improve future forecasts from the performance of our forecasts in the past. We also publish Briefing papers (describing our work and explaining the material we present), Discussion papers (seeking views on aspects of our work), Working papers and Occasional papers. We also produce a Monthly public finances update and Press releases.  19th August 2010
